It with much regret that the Capricornia Chamber of Commerce advises that its President for the last four years, Peter Fraser, has stood down from the Presidency and the Chamber’s operating committee.
After spending most of his working life in banking and finance, Peter has decided he wants a change of direction in his working life and has taken a contract with the Department of Transport and Main Roads. Standard conditions of his employment with DTMR have meant that Peter would be unable to advocate, including publicly, on issues of interest to the Chamber and its members. This has led Peter to tender his resignation, which was reluctantly accepted by the committee. During his Presidency Peter has led the Chamber with energy and insight. His recent roles in banking brought him very close to the interests and concern of the business community, which he pursued diplomatically and firmly with relevant organisations.
We are sure that all members will join with us in wishing Peter all the best and look forward to the day when he might return to a leadership role with the committee.
Phil Henry, currently Secretary and Vice-president, will act as President until the next AGM in September.
