Are you ready for Single Touch Payroll?

A change to single touch payroll is coming. Single Touch Payroll Reporting (STPR) has been introduced by the Australian Tax Office (ATO), which means most businesses will need to update their payroll systems in order to report to the ATO in real time.

From 1 July 2018, if your business is over 20 employees (headcount), there are new requirements which will significantly change how businesses across Australia can report and engage with regulators. If you have 19 or fewer employees, Single Touch Payroll reporting will be optional until 1 July 2019. It will be mandatory from that date, subject to legislation being passed in parliament.

With our accounting partners BDO, we’ve kept CCIQ members up to date about this over the past six months. But now we’ve compiled everything you need to know into a handy guide to help you transition and stay compliant.
