Phil Henry (President) was pleased to be joined by Robyn Lock, Chamber events coordinator, at a lunch function put on by Trade and Investment Queensland to hear the Hon Cameron Dick MP, Treasurer of Queensland, provide a comprehensive briefing on the recent State Budget. 

There was good attendance at the briefing from Councils, other economic development organisations and business. 

The Treasurer recalled our last meeting where I had urged the government to abolish payroll tax. 

While some progress had been made on reducing this onerous tax, I reminded the Treasurer that the goal was still its complete abolition (Phil Henry).
