Closing soon – Rockhampton Region Small Businesses encouraged to register an expression of interest for the Certificate IV in Small Business Management

Rockhampton Region Small Businesses are encouraged to register an expression of interest for the Certificate IV in Small Business Management.

Advance Rockhampton is helping the Region’s small businesses and entrepreneurs to increase their learning and development through the co-sponsoring of subsidies for the Certificate IV in Small Business Management course.

The Certificate IV in Small Business Management has been exclusively developed for small business owners and covers areas including: time management, business planning, customer service, marketing, digital action plans, compliance and small business finance.

Rockhampton Regional Council’s subsidised upskilling course for small business is having great results with reports of increased revenue and modernising practices coming from those that have participated to date.

Wayne Hanrahan, Director at Kindysport undertook the Certificate IV in Small Business Management course and reports; “I learnt a great deal about the strategy and process of running a business and have already implemented recommendations that have resulted in a significant increase in revenue”.

It is apparent that the mentoring style of training through the Certificate IV in Small Business Management has greatly assisted local business to take the next step in developing their businesses. And with the course only taking a month to complete the commitment of time is kept to a minimum.

There are 12 openings in the months of May and June for local business. If local business meets certain criteria the course could be fully subsidised.

Small Business Solutions Pty Ltd will facilitate the course in Rockhampton in May and June 2018.

The course has a fee of $2,390 and if the participant meets certain criteria the State Government covers $1,935 of this cost. Council has a subsidy available to Rockhampton Region businesses of $455 that could either cover the remaining costs or assist those that do not meet the State Government criteria. Limited spaces are available until the end of financial year.
