Fitzroy Community Hospice has received a $5,000 donation from a recent fundraising event hosted by Rockhampton Brothers Senior Rugby League.
Fitzroy Community Hospice Chief Executive Officer Tanya Johnson said the Hospice was incredibly grateful to receive the $5,000 donation from Brothers Ladies Day.
“As a not-for-profit organisation, we rely heavily on community donations and could not be more honoured to have been the charity of choice for Brothers Ladies Day for the second year in a row,” Mrs Johnson said.
“The donation contributes to our continued provision of fee-free palliative care and bereavement support services for Central Queenslanders and their families”.
Brothers Senior Rugby League Club Representative Rebecca Shadlow said it was very comforting to give back to an organisation that has directly impacted many people in the club.
“We are so lucky to have Fitzroy Community Hospice here in our community and it’s very important for us to support it. Our annual Brothers Ladies Day is always a fun day, so it makes fundraising very easy.” Ms Shadlow said.
Brad’s Glazing Representative Trudy Russell said it was a privilege to be the Major Sponsor of the Brothers Ladies Day event this year.
“It’s lovely to know the money raised from Brothers Ladies Day has been donated to an organisation that directly supports our community. We’re all about locals supporting locals.” Ms Russell said.
