Free Workshop to Help Local Businesses Prepare for Disasters

Free Workshop to Help Local Businesses Prepare for Disasters

Advance Rockhampton is offering a valuable opportunity for small and medium-sized businesses to build their resilience ahead of the upcoming storm season, with a free Disaster Preparedness Program workshop to be held later this month.

Delivered in partnership with Rockhampton Regional Council, the program is designed to equip local operators with the tools, knowledge and practical strategies needed to prepare for—and recover from—natural disasters such as flooding, cyclones and bushfires. For many businesses across the Capricorn region, these events pose ongoing challenges to continuity, staffing, logistics and financial stability, making early planning essential.

The interactive workshop will cover a broad range of essential topics, including:

  • Business continuity planning
  • Asset protection
  • Cyber security
  • Supply chain disruptions
  • Insurance claims and considerations
  • Operating with limited staff or essential services

Participants will receive practical take-away resources, including workbooks and support materials tailored specifically for small and medium enterprises. A limited number of one-on-one mentoring sessions will also be offered to attendees seeking additional personalised support after the workshop.
