As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting and informing the business community across Rockhampton, Yeppoon and Central Queensland, the Capricornia Chamber of Commerce has again invited all candidates contesting the seat of Capricornia in the 2025 Federal Election to respond to the same set of business-focused questions.
In this video, you’ll hear directly from the candidates as they share their views on infrastructure, business growth, and their priorities for the region. Each candidate was asked the same three questions and given equal time to respond. The questions were:
- What are your top three infrastructure priorities for Capricornia?
- What do you see as the main impediments to small and medium enterprise growth and viability, and how would you address them?
- Your two-minute final pitch to voters.
The candidates who participated are:
- Cheryl Kempton – Pauline Hanson’s One Nation
- Mick Jones – The Australian Greens
- Michelle Landry – Liberal National Party (incumbent)
- Emily Mawson – Australian Labor Party
Each interview is presented in full, without commentary or editing. The Chamber remains strictly apolitical and does not endorse any candidate.
We encourage you to watch the video below and hear what each candidate has to say. This is an important opportunity to consider who best represents your values and the needs of our region, particularly the small to medium business community that forms the backbone of our local economy.
Make your vote count. Be informed. Be engaged.
