In this Chamber conversation, Jason Foss caught up with Julie-Anne from Julie-Anne Photography to discuss branding, confidence and the role professional imagery plays in business growth.
Julie-Anne began her career in weddings and portraits and has recently expanded into commercial and corporate branding. Her focus is on helping businesses tell their story visually and connect with their audience.
She shared that many business owners feel uncomfortable in front of the camera, often describing themselves as looking “like a deer in headlights”. Julie-Anne explained that professional photography goes beyond owning a good camera. It includes posing, lighting and understanding a brand’s aesthetic to create images that feel natural and aligned.
Her view is that if a business only shows a logo, it remains hidden. Particularly for local businesses, people want to see the face behind the brand.
