The Queensland State Budget has now been handed down, and while there are some encouraging announcements, there’s still plenty of detail to come.
In this Chamber Chat, Jason Foss and Phil Henry discuss their early thoughts on what the budget could mean for businesses across Central Queensland.
Some of the topics covered include:
- Why global economic conditions have shaped this year’s budget.
- Continued support for apprentices and existing small business programs.
- The growing importance of helping businesses adapt to artificial intelligence, and why that means much more than simply learning to use ChatGPT.
- Why better management skills could deliver significant productivity improvements for Australian businesses.
- Phil’s long-standing view that governments rely too heavily on grant programs instead of structural reform.
- Local infrastructure funding, including continued investment in major road projects around Central Queensland.
As with any budget, many of the announcements are still fairly high level. We’ll be watching closely as more detail becomes available over the coming weeks.
Watch the video for our full discussion and stay tuned for a deeper analysis once the finer details have been released.
