The Growing Tourism Infrastructure (GTI) Fund is now open!

The GTI Fund is part of the $36 million commitment to grow tourism infrastructure in Queensland. The purpose of the GTI Fund is to provide funding for significant new tourism infrastructure projects that will increase visitation and tourism expenditure in Queensland.

Funding is available for delivery of large-scale significant infrastructure projects which can act as a catalyst for future economic development, profile in key markets and facilitating tourism growth.

The GTI Fund will realise the Queensland Government’s vision for future-proofing the tourism industry. The Fund forms an instrumental element of the Queensland Government’s economic development agenda to build resilient businesses, regions and communities by creating sustainable new jobs and increasing visitor expenditure.

The Department of Innovation, Tourism Industry Development and the Commonwealth Games (DITID) is responsible for administering the GTI Fund.

Successful projects will align with the following priority areas:

  • invest in new tourism infrastructure and access
  • create new jobs in both construction and on-going operational phases
  • increase overnight visitation and expenditure

There will be two stages to the assessment process – Stage One an initial Expression of Interest (EOI), and for invited shortlisted applicants, Stage Two, a Full Business Case (FBC). Submission of a FBC application does not guarantee the applicant will be successful in funding.

Minimum funding of $500 000 is available on a dollar for dollar matched cash funding contribution basis by proponents for eligible capital works.

Stage One (EOI) is now open with last EOIs received by 5:00PM AEST on 7 September 2018.
