There was plenty to chat about in this month’s Chamber update, filmed after our July Coffee Connect in Yeppoon (where the wind kindly waited until we were ready to hit record…).
Here’s a quick rundown.
Best in Business nominations are open
The Capricornia Best in Business Awards are back, and nominations are now open.
If you’ve never entered before, don’t let the application put you off. It’s not overly complicated, and simply working through the questions is a great opportunity to step back and think about your business, what you’re doing well and where you could improve.
If you’ve been considering entering, now’s the time.
Don’t let AI overwhelm you
AI seems to be everywhere at the moment, but our advice is simple: don’t try to do everything at once.
After chatting with a local AI expert recently, one message really stood out. Pick one repetitive task in your business and see if AI can help automate it. Once you’ve got that sorted, move on to the next.
The Chamber is also looking at ways we can help local businesses better understand and use AI, so watch this space.
Interested in getting more involved?
Our AGM is still a few months away, but we’re already starting to think about welcoming some new faces onto the Chamber committee.
If you’d like to make new connections, help shape the local business community and give back where you can, we’d love to have a chat. There’s no expectation that you dedicate huge amounts of time, just contribute in whatever way works for you.
