The Sound of Help Relies on Community Support

For many across Central Queensland, the sound of a helicopter overhead carries a clear meaning – help is on its way.

For 30 years, CapRescue has delivered lifesaving aeromedical support across a vast and often remote region, responding to emergencies, accidents, medical transfers and search and rescue missions when time matters most.

As part of the 2026 Annual Appeal, CapRescue is calling on the community to help keep the service mission-ready for the people who rely on it every day. Operating across more than 350,000 square kilometres, the service provides vital support to communities from St Lawrence to Agnes Water, west to Alpha and across the Capricorn Coast.

Rescue300 is often tasked to locations where distance and access can delay critical care. In many cases, the helicopter brings advanced medical assistance directly to the scene before transporting patients to hospital.

While CapRescue operates in partnership with Queensland Health, around 30 per cent of annual funding comes directly from community support. Every donation to the 2026 Annual Appeal helps keep crews, aircraft and equipment ready to respond 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
